US Weekly: Trying to prove that she’s not just a party girl or a tabloid queen, Lindsay Lohan has promised to be on her best behavior on the set of her new film The Other Side, according to the movie’s producer.
“She said, ‘I’m going to turn down a lot of other work right now. I really want to get serious.’ She said, ‘I’m committed. I’m not going to be late. I’m really, really excited about doing this and working with these other actors,’ ” producer Kent Harper tells PEOPLE. “So we’re excited.” The independent fantasy comedy is expected to start shooting in October on an island off the coast of Massachusetts. It will costar Jason Lee, Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Alanis Morissette and Dave Matthews. Harper also stars in the film.
“I believe where she’s at now with her commitment to the art that she’s going to be phenomenal and I’m not worried whatsoever,” Harper says. “Now if anything happens, you just handle it as it goes.”
But with Lohan’s history of rehab and run-ins with the law, will they be able to insure the actress for the project? Harper says he isn’t losing sleep over it.
“I don’t want to get too much into that, but I’m not worried about that at all either,” he says. “I’ve had bigger fish to fry. I’m not even concerned. You deal with that when it gets closer to shooting anyway. It’ll be something that will be dealt with. I’m positive it’ll all work out.”

Los Angeles police tell E! News that the investigation is “still underway” into whoever allegedly tried to burglarize Lindsay Lohan’s Hollywood Hills home Tuesday afternoon.
A surveillance camera at Lohan’s pad captured footage of the cops’ suspect wearing a white cap and crouched outside a vehicle that was parked on the street outside the actress’s house.
No further details about the person of interest were released—not even whether said person is a man or a woman.
“We’re referring to them as a suspect so you can’t really be certain,” LAPD spokesman Richard French said. “You’ll see when you see the photos.”
Lohan returned to L.A. last night after a short stay in Europe. Police told E! News Tuesday that no one else was home at the time of the break-in and that no personal property was taken.

The actress chased her ex-lover across LA yesterday before finally tracking her down at 2am and demanding one of those horrible late-night discussions.
The 22-year-old had searched for Ronson at Cecconi’s restaurant and the Dark Room club, where Ronson had just been, before moving on to the DJ’s Hollywood home.
She was seen going into the house and witness claim to have overheard the pair discussing their relationship in loud voices.
The Mean Girls star finally emerged on Wednesday morning wearing different clothes and appeared in no mood to talk to photographers.
She started off Tuesday night arriving at Cecconi’s restaurant in Beverly Hills, where she dined with a friend before moving on to new venue the Dark Room on Melrose Avenue.
The star asked photographers if Samantha was inside the venue and looked disheartened when they told her she had left.
Lindsay was further upset when she learned from photographers that Samantha had been with another woman.
After arriving at Sam’s home in the early hours of Wednesday, the women could be heard arguing.
Witnesses said they could hear Lindsay crying and asking Samantha to ‘come to me’.
Lindsay was devastated when Samantha ended their relationship on April 4, claiming the break-up ‘came out of nowhere’.
