New York Daily News:Â You too can have Lindsayâs deluxe tan glow.
Critics are having a field day over news that the star is launching a line of self-tanner.
âWhy do a self-tanner? Arenât there enough out there?â asked the Los Angeles Times.
âSheâs that desperate for money and attention,â one blogger asked, while another joked that the line would come in various shades, including âRadioactive.â
But naysayers be darned. It actually ⦠works. Yes, Lindsayâs known as a party-loving actress – not a chemist – and yes, she named the product after her favorite numbers which seemingly have nothing to do with tanning.
But Lohanâs Sevin Nyne tanning mist, co-created with tanning expert Lorit Simon, can turn even a self-tanning skeptic into a believer with its natural color, yummy coconut scent and even-a-dummy-can-do-it spray application.
And thatâs the point, Simon says.
âYou just spray and go – itâs easy,â she said.
Sevin Nyne took a year and a half to perfect, with Lohan serving as a (bronzed) guinea pig for different formulas.
âLindsay has been a part of this every step of the way,â Simon said. âI donât think I could do this without her.â
Simon and LiLo are banking on the sprayâs natural color, airbrush-style applicator and caramel-infused formula to help Sevin Nyne rise above the competition. Interested? Put aside time to do it right.
And for Godâs sake, donât fiddle with it a half hour after applying.
Slighty streaky elbow pits are an unfortunate side effect when you spray ânâ run, as are spotty cheeks when eye drops accidentally miss the mark, leaving an untanned blur in their wake. Ahem.
But these are common issues with this sort of product, as any tan fan will tell you. And, somehow, Sevin Nyne manages to self-correct the color over time – even for klutzy, tan-ologically challenged users.
At $35 a pop, it ainât cheap to wear LiLo, but the price falls on the fiscally manageable end of similar products (Mystic Tanâs mist runs for $38; Guerlainâs is $59).
Fans eager to tan like Lindsay will get their shot on April 15, when Sevin Nyne is available at Sephora.com.
The mist hits Sephora stores on May 1.
Actually getting along for once, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were spotted attending the Vanity Fair party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood last night (February 4).
The âI Know Who Killed Meâ actress and her celebrity deejay girlfriend enjoyed each otherâs company, a welcome sight in light of their recent relationship woes.
And though they insist that theyâre not broken up, LiLo has recently rented her own pad on El Contento Drive, having moved out of Samâs Beechwood Canyon Drive digs.
Lohanâs new place is a three-bedroom Hollywood Hills bungalow, surrounded on all sides by tall hedges, that rents for $10,000 a month.
Not long ago, we were telling you about Lindsay Lohanâs interview with Interview magazine, in which she spoke, among others, of her reputation in the media getting the best of her career, which meant she was being refused the parts that went to other actresses her age, such as Scarlett Johansson. The February issue of the mag is now out at newsstands and, as it turns out, thereâs more to the La Lohan! edition than we previously discussed.
In the lengthy interview, Lindsay tackles such topics as growing up under the glaring eye of the media, never wanting to be famous, learning from her mistakes to raise to the standards that the media set for her, as well as being misunderstood. It comes accompanied by one of the classiest photo shoots the young actress ever took part in â mostly black and white photographs shot by Lauren Hutton, with photography by Mert and Marcus.
For starters, Lindsay makes it clear from the onset that she is in no way proud of her past choices, while also saying that it is the public who refuses to see that she has actually changed her ways. However, what hurts her the most is the fact that no one, and especially not the media, is willing to give her a second chance, just because sheâs a star â which, in the first place, she neither asked, nor wanted to become.
âThe worst part is, in terms of what people see of me, I have become this girl who just loves to be photographed, doesnât know how to focus, doesnât know how to work on set, just loves the attention, knows how to go out at night, knows how to party. And you know what? I was 20 years old. I never went to college. And I lived maybe six months out of my life like that, doing something wrong, and then I stopped. God forbid I should have ever learned my lesson.â Lindsay tells Interview.
It seems that, once with the drastic changes she made to her life, Lindsay also grew up enough to realize the error of her past ways. If only others saw it too, she laments, then maybe she could go on with her life. âI just feel as though itâs become a situation where people have manifested this caricature of who I am, and they act as if thereâs no real person inside of it.â she says.
